Nap mode is a timed rest and fixed-time wake-up path in the released Restful App. It is distinct from the overnight microphone chart.
Choose unlimited, 10, 20, 30, or 60 minutes, or a custom length up to six hours. Select a wake tone, then start the nap. Nap mode does not record or analyse the night.

How it works
Set up a nap
Choose the nap length
Use a preset of 10, 20, 30, or 60 minutes, a custom length up to six hours, or the unlimited option. The selected length controls the nap wake-up, not the sound mixer’s playback timer.
Pick a wake tone
Select a tone from the App’s fixed-time alarm choices. Restful does not infer a light-sleep window or move the alarm according to the night-sound chart.
Add sound only if you want it
Nap mode can use the sound library. Set the separate audio timer to 10, 15, 20, or 30 minutes when you want the sound to end before your nap does.
The details
Two timers, two purposes
A 30-minute nap and a 15-minute sound timer mean the sound can stop after 15 minutes while the nap wake-up remains scheduled for the 30-minute point.
Naps are not scored and do not produce the overnight relative sound chart. That chart is an optional, separate microphone-based session.
There is no claim here that an iPhone alarm is guaranteed under every power, interruption, or permission condition; test your chosen alert setup before relying on it.
Limits
Before relying on a wake-up
- The alarm is set for the time you choose. It is not a smart alarm and does not detect sleep stages.
- Device notification settings, Focus modes and interruptions such as calls can affect alerts.
- If a wake-up is important, confirm your selected tone and keep a separate reliable alarm as a backup.
A direct answer
Does a nap require microphone permission?
No. Naps don’t use the microphone; only an overnight Sleep session records room sound.
